Call for proposals – Orientation sessions on foreign credential recognition

The Foreign Credentials Referral Office (FCRO) had issued a Call for Proposals to provide in-person orientation sessions in key locations outside Canada. These sessions will provide prospective immigrants to Canada with information that is appropriate, comprehensive, understandable, authoritative and relevant. They will promote informed decision making and encourage newcomers to prepare in advance in order to facilitate their integration into Canadian society.

Participants who successfully complete overseas orientation will be better prepared to enter the Canadian labour market, and will have a practical “work book” or “action plan” to identify and contact Canadian organizations for further assistance (including foreign credential recognition and assessment).

As newcomers after arrival in Canada, participants will be better prepared for life in this country because they will have a greater understanding of Canadian foreign credential recognition processes, labour market and the overall settlement process. Ultimately, they will be better prepared in finding employment that fits their skills and experience.

The FCRO Call for Proposals is now closed. The FCRO would like to thank all those who applied or expressed interest in this project. Please check back for future updates.
